One link per child, short enough to print on a slip that goes home in a backpack. Grandparents, neighbours and family friends can give in under a minute from their phone — no account, no app, no envelope of cash coming back to the office.
Built by a parent on the fundraising committee
This started at a kitchen table, the night before a fun run. A parent on the school's fundraising committee — a software developer by day — was sorting a shoebox of cash envelopes into classroom piles, cross-checking a paper roster against a spreadsheet someone else had already re-typed twice. Two envelopes had no name on them. One had a cheque made out to the wrong entity. It was nearly midnight.
The committee wasn't short of enthusiasm. It was short of a way for a grandparent three states away to give twenty dollars to one specific kid and have that land, correctly attributed, without anyone re-keying anything. So the same parent built one — first for their own school's spring drive, then for the school across town that asked to borrow it.
That's still the design brief. Everything here exists because a volunteer was doing it by hand at 11pm and shouldn't have had to. The people running your drive are parents with day jobs, and the software should assume that.
What your school gets
Assigned once and never changed, so a slip printed in week one still works in week four — even if the student changes classrooms.
Public thermometers by classroom, so the friendly rivalry that actually drives a drive has something to point at.
Every student who has received a gift so far stays in the hat, seven days a week. It runs itself overnight and each student can win once per campaign.
Issued from your school's own legal name and tax ID, on a private link the donor can print. Never a placeholder.
A donor who asks to give anonymously stays off the donor wall. Per-gift amounts are never public for anyone.
Card payments run through Stripe Checkout — we never touch card details, and no cash comes back through the school office.
How a drive runs
- 1Upload your roster
A CSV from your student information system. Every student gets a page and a printable link the same afternoon.
- 2Send the slips home
Families forward their child's link to whoever they'd have asked for a cheque. Giving takes about a minute on a phone.
- 3Watch it come in
Totals update as gifts land. Staff see who gave what; the public page shows the thermometer and a donor wall of people who chose to be named.
- 4Close the books
Close the campaign, export the donation list, and start a fresh one next year without last year's numbers tangled up in it.
